<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkBHXqmx_-kMnQsdY_WrZ8bm7PxfIYWdX_Cx6QJCPqRmdG2zt4Ha7x_TH4MTNWIKqLATd8MW44nn-WUOtg3p5LXOuLocYWK6vALuw1uBJaGGhYpo-6nMl_jQjjy-jAf7sCYx-IoMibZRB5/s1600/closeupbowl.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkBHXqmx_-kMnQsdY_WrZ8bm7PxfIYWdX_Cx6QJCPqRmdG2zt4Ha7x_TH4MTNWIKqLATd8MW44nn-WUOtg3p5LXOuLocYWK6vALuw1uBJaGGhYpo-6nMl_jQjjy-jAf7sCYx-IoMibZRB5/s320/closeupbowl.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So here it is.... </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
the range of sublime bamboo and silk... </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
As you can imagine it is soooo soft and squidgy. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I just popped my hand into the bowl of </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
deliciousness and there was my choice for the first of many wee cardies....</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjjWVpiqyY2D6hcG_vydWZF1DqWvdA9QqMTIiCxsnlDwr8E8Hu9BpL1g6K1vXx2FWyJYgsZR_QI02rVox6vhn4HyL2QYz5tBmKQdArWUINEJS__QJXUz-Zbcid1M8HhdF-kda0pHgGcvUB/s1600/Bamboo:silk+close+up.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjjWVpiqyY2D6hcG_vydWZF1DqWvdA9QqMTIiCxsnlDwr8E8Hu9BpL1g6K1vXx2FWyJYgsZR_QI02rVox6vhn4HyL2QYz5tBmKQdArWUINEJS__QJXUz-Zbcid1M8HhdF-kda0pHgGcvUB/s320/Bamboo:silk+close+up.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
So here again is the wonderful picture of these such cute cardigans. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have got the yarn... I have got the pattern</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
the time is slotting into place</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
so really really soon</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I too will have a line of these hanging in my shop</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjQ8YzRNo70l9zuYcN6gaGH0XE_ng3hEIY2S6JDrqdpsWNeynJeSYq720Wy-PAoD94cXNiCr2sIiaP9xCmz5cWk6Z2_D9HFk0h-Ss0N1u0NxlbQb5J5R8aWqWgP8cmpYOhmJQjT2o72NgX/s1600/Line+O+Cardigan.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjQ8YzRNo70l9zuYcN6gaGH0XE_ng3hEIY2S6JDrqdpsWNeynJeSYq720Wy-PAoD94cXNiCr2sIiaP9xCmz5cWk6Z2_D9HFk0h-Ss0N1u0NxlbQb5J5R8aWqWgP8cmpYOhmJQjT2o72NgX/s400/Line+O+Cardigan.jpg" title="" width="400" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I can see how beautifully this yarn is knitting up.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I am thinking that a flower here and a flower there on</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
the ones for the young ladies </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Those for the young mans will just speak for them self</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
not a spot of decoration needed.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwsozKCMwk9_3p0E-0w32AA4_PJyXQgyr00DBRdAClIs7Ame47UFeFTqMtHRe4cb7dWpQv8OyqT9t4nyI3C7Squ45T9VRGaiLfnXbcYgEjBh9jBJVBWA6T5BXMORfuyd7WWeeJoy-qA8YT/s1600/Cardie.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwsozKCMwk9_3p0E-0w32AA4_PJyXQgyr00DBRdAClIs7Ame47UFeFTqMtHRe4cb7dWpQv8OyqT9t4nyI3C7Squ45T9VRGaiLfnXbcYgEjBh9jBJVBWA6T5BXMORfuyd7WWeeJoy-qA8YT/s320/Cardie.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
So there it is... number one on the home stretch.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
just a few to go</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
now,</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
where is that roll of twine, </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I had best get the clothes line all </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
ready and strung. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

This Girl Needs A Plan..... <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHxXEhwTq0fjoW__rCofNT_S7gLJyhlwEUA0RBCvpJmJ9sSym4_Nz6FOS9Adx4lYiGatwJ-MylGRXWGAA_ZRUAbB3bE1WSOo1ThfR4p2c_yWPBl89V43ysAJG6Zh1zvZLhGXenvaTxkj_W/s1600/Stack+o+Books.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHxXEhwTq0fjoW__rCofNT_S7gLJyhlwEUA0RBCvpJmJ9sSym4_Nz6FOS9Adx4lYiGatwJ-MylGRXWGAA_ZRUAbB3bE1WSOo1ThfR4p2c_yWPBl89V43ysAJG6Zh1zvZLhGXenvaTxkj_W/s320/Stack+o+Books.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Look what I found when I went down to the <strike>woods</strike> library today. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />I found some really amazing books with lots and lots of things </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
that I just want to try. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Some are just perfect for me</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and others just the thing to try out for Pollynanna. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So anyways I have been thinking to myself - </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
how many times do I get out lots of books but</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
never ever get a chance to make the bits and bobs</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
that made me so excited when I have seen what is on the pages.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So this is where my huge PLAN came to life.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Before the return date comes about I have to make at least</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
one item from every book. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
What a massive motivational exercise this is going to be. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So first up is...... </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkEdgOc7T7_eF-QjiPwHLpDrS8rm1nOjD2oRwbJirsnesQoLOOMj5c6m0TSYOE7pCDviTobjtgLiK_DN-4-yoPHJQKkpsoy19M3BSmDKbBDrB-jQYn4EpjFvvQ5VmBo9bdb9EUWiLAwuzN/s1600/Granny+Chic+Book.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkEdgOc7T7_eF-QjiPwHLpDrS8rm1nOjD2oRwbJirsnesQoLOOMj5c6m0TSYOE7pCDviTobjtgLiK_DN-4-yoPHJQKkpsoy19M3BSmDKbBDrB-jQYn4EpjFvvQ5VmBo9bdb9EUWiLAwuzN/s320/Granny+Chic+Book.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
leafing through the pages I found this.... </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIH2YO0RhNtzeX9XaeXAcHxxAFW9PdBVnmgo4EuXs_6QNWTBVIGp4UHMfIpm8t1ma2QRssmhwTNQUmwaXGFiA8Z37qCJZ4MXQpIAZjO8mNrMRkum5TQ5O82EtY_LqMTUfhVZjSQn2FF6J4/s1600/TeaCaddy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIH2YO0RhNtzeX9XaeXAcHxxAFW9PdBVnmgo4EuXs_6QNWTBVIGp4UHMfIpm8t1ma2QRssmhwTNQUmwaXGFiA8Z37qCJZ4MXQpIAZjO8mNrMRkum5TQ5O82EtY_LqMTUfhVZjSQn2FF6J4/s320/TeaCaddy.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
oh wow!.... I need this kinda chic in my home... </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and perhaps a few in my shop to share with everyone who just needs one too... </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So..... </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfrblMHO1MVCOYa87dZ9i82Z0Yp6pbWHVx7DWEohL5_-a9mHNTdugHrxA6791B3dPgTlYoybalrruo7bpcR-vvNIZxhGABBk5p3xcNkTvf6yh9_pWaoGiT9I1q75YOFc7t24w5u_arO9KA/s1600/GrannyStripe.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="264" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfrblMHO1MVCOYa87dZ9i82Z0Yp6pbWHVx7DWEohL5_-a9mHNTdugHrxA6791B3dPgTlYoybalrruo7bpcR-vvNIZxhGABBk5p3xcNkTvf6yh9_pWaoGiT9I1q75YOFc7t24w5u_arO9KA/s320/GrannyStripe.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
one journey has begun.... </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I can't believe how fast this one is shaping up.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Of course it would be way too organised for me to finish</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
something before planning and scheming the next little something.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So.... </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbG1eVBEoj8MbdDrXj7zo8ieWXGH1jHDHbw_DSI_ds2F91oDQH361B7mDrLpfaTeXxwbcCHSTUGTdxetP-WOLMNso_ARd-5TLAiUyPB2Qk5HQJbAmNBBip_BUzznpz5yetDbNcgYVrGK-P/s1600/Line+O+Cardigan.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbG1eVBEoj8MbdDrXj7zo8ieWXGH1jHDHbw_DSI_ds2F91oDQH361B7mDrLpfaTeXxwbcCHSTUGTdxetP-WOLMNso_ARd-5TLAiUyPB2Qk5HQJbAmNBBip_BUzznpz5yetDbNcgYVrGK-P/s320/Line+O+Cardigan.jpg" width="320" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
it was actually this picture I spied in a knitting magazine that </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
sent me on my book hunt.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkUP9PUS_1CJRFKM7drPRwbErfUEc3XmBOAMzIYaMXGsoXcR4CnNUVTxLIvC2oBeMp6OEJGlz-EK0rM7XT8Q_NgMn7GQ4sb-ofoYTzWULSD-d2oCxFwia62v5R5Tx_r8GjPrQVB33BhzvS/s1600/Cardigan.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkUP9PUS_1CJRFKM7drPRwbErfUEc3XmBOAMzIYaMXGsoXcR4CnNUVTxLIvC2oBeMp6OEJGlz-EK0rM7XT8Q_NgMn7GQ4sb-ofoYTzWULSD-d2oCxFwia62v5R5Tx_r8GjPrQVB33BhzvS/s320/Cardigan.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I just love the wee cardigans... I have them all pictured</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
in my head in the beautiful sublime bamboo/silk yarn that I </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
came across a wee while back. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
They will be devine.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The book is Natural Nursery Knits</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
by</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Erika Knight.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
What a find - I certainly hope that I will be making so much</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
more than just these cardigans.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So there is the beginning of my great bit huge plan.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
What a wonderful plan it is ... </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
if</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
pull it off</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
it will be a magical journey my plan has set me on. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I have a dream.... it is a dream that involves yarn, needles, hooks and ME!<br />
<br />
I would just love it to all happen NOW but this is something that is going to happen with time and lots of effort, love and ME!<br />
<br />
Here's a few pictures of what I am making, some of it is patterns I have purchased and others ones that I have designed myself. I am just loving how they are turning out and I love it when one of my hats is discovered and loved just as much as I love them.<br />

I am selling them in my shop, they made it to a market in the weekend and hopefully we are going to develop a market of our own right in the shopping village I work in everyday. So many wheels are turning, slowly slowly at the moment but i just know that when they all turn together so much magic is going to just be.<br />

The tree outside my shop has been bombed! I can't describe how exciting it was to clamber up the ladder and start attaching my tree rug. As it stretched around the trunk it just seemed to be made to fit - which it was of course.<br /><br />

I am sure that I will take so many photos in the days to come but this is the first of them and I think it just looks magnificent. It makes the trunk just so huggable - in fact while I was taking photos I had a young girl just walk right on up and hug that tree.<br />
<br />
Of course there are so many trees in Greerton and so many of them have their winter rugs in place. The effect is stunning - you can't help but smile while you wander around looking at the work that everyone has put into their tree. So many different ideas so many different results. I am just estatic that it has finally come to fruitition. I have added photos below of some of the trees... more to follow over the next few days. How wonderful it is - just makes my smile a million miles wide. <br />

After such a fantastic summer which just seemed to keep on keeping on - Autumn has landed with a bit of a bang today. I managed to get out of the shop yesterday to snap some pictures of the leaves in Greerton. We are so lucky to work in such a beautiful shopping area - it really does have the best of everything.<br />
<br />
I couldn't resist these shots when I took the pups for a walk.... and walking thru the leaves kicking them was just a small revisit to my childhood. The rain has fallen today so playing in the leaves won't be such a happy moment. Definitely a great night to get home and snuggle in front of the fire with a huge pot of tea and some yarn to play with. Oh and a big pot of soup on the oven... another form of bliss.<br />

I need to branch out into some new colours but for now this is where I am at. I have knitted a couple too just to give my crochet hook a rest. Love making them - really pleased with how they have turned out but I am ready now to try tweaking the patterns to make them mine. It's all a work in progress but it is slowly becoming my happy space.<br />

<br />
I have had a lovely Easter break - three whole days off to myself, I didn't leave my sanctuary up here in the hills. Just spent time with the dogs and all of the different personalities rattling around in my head. There's the crochet diva that wants to cover every wee kiddie head in town. My knitting hippie that wants to cover herself in knitted wares. And then there is my quilting alter ego that would like to cover her grandkiddies and her own walls in colourful creations. So I spent the three days dabbling in bits of this and pieces of that. I was a lovely time and I managed a few pictures to share of what I am up too.<br />
<br />
This was my venture into making some crochet garlands. Over here on <a href="http://emmallamb.blogspot.co.nz/" target="_blank">emmalamb's </a>blog I have always wanted to make some flower garlands. When I saw her post on making circles I knew I had to give it a go. I had chosen the colours a while ago and with a few tweaks I sat down to go completley dottie. I love how they have turned out but I am having a few issues trying to figure out where I will put them or how to use them. At the moment they are strung on the wall in my office looking a wee bit lonely. They were originally planned to be used on my twiggy arrangement in the lounge but I haven't had time to make them look just right. Time will find them there rightful home.<br />

<br />
During the weekend we did manage a drive in Mr Tom's passion, his 58
Chevy that he has had restored to perfection. I always take advantage
of this time to work on some knitting. The last few drives this has
involved my <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/ysolda/ishbel" target="_blank">Ishbel</a>
scarf which I am making in a bamboo mix yarn. It has grown quite
quickly of late but now that I am at the lace stage it is no longer a
'driving' knit but has become a great 'cafe' knit instead. It was a
lovely drive to Waihi where we have a fantastic lunch sitting in the
sun.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB3L6GmH9oUzw-cELK1QGYNJ4FjP0QxwKKPBWfASMBCdMdRu6BqGGn8b3_jhJIbknXxtkP9qWZrBQqEduImc8eC6D_BymYc8D36kJcHEp52jBVUPHOJap5H85DFbQ0iBoZ90gvDIoFuu_a/s1600/IMG_1371.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB3L6GmH9oUzw-cELK1QGYNJ4FjP0QxwKKPBWfASMBCdMdRu6BqGGn8b3_jhJIbknXxtkP9qWZrBQqEduImc8eC6D_BymYc8D36kJcHEp52jBVUPHOJap5H85DFbQ0iBoZ90gvDIoFuu_a/s320/IMG_1371.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
And then lastly I have to tell all about a wonderful yarnbombing
project that is in the making. For a few years now I have had an idea
of bombing the trees in the shopping village where my shop is located.
At last I have people that think I am not completely off my rocker and
through a lot of hard work and organising on their part it looks like
coming to fruition this year. How exciting is that? The yarns sitting on my chairside table are just waiting to be hooked all around this old bike. I need to find a new seat for it - but I can see how cool this bicycle is going to be. Watch this space :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I have a tree that I am going to warm for winter BUT I also have been given a bike to put my own little touch of crochet onto. So I have the bike.... I have the yarn - just have to find the time and have a plan. Not too good on plans so lets just go with the time and I think I can find some of that. <br />

When the kids let me know that they had another bundle on the way I knew I had to come up with a lovely blanket.<br />
<br />
I actually convinced myself that we were going to get a wee girl.... so I started two different girly versions. So cute! Luckily Lewis snuck a look at the scan one day and had a chat with the doctor and voila, another boy. I had a minor head spin and went on a major internet rampage until I found <a href="http://www.purlbee.com/bears-rainbow-blanket/" target="_blank">this lovely blanket.</a> I thought it was so clever but liked the idea of circles in rainbow colours that would look kind of like a paint box. <br />
<br />
I had made a blanket for Rydah a couple of years ago. I loved the yarn that I used so decided to just continue creating with this yarn again. It is a Sirdar BabyBamboo which is made up of bamboo and wool. A good combination considering this family lives in Cairns and the cooler this blanket is the better.<br />
<br />
I am so pleased with how it turned out. I used <a href="http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/joining-granny-sqaures.html" target="_blank">this</a> method of joining all of the blocks. What a neat finish this method has achieved. Lucy of <a href="http://attic24.typepad.com/" target="_blank">Attic24</a> has so many great ideas and tutorials I find myself looking through her archives more and more.<br />
<br />
So it is ready to be packaged up and posted off. I am just finishing a small quilt I made for Rydah's birthday. It is running a bit late but he will just love snuggling under it when watching tv or lying on outside to watch the clouds. More on that project super soon.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbrNtTLzGxK-Hqmtnkrvnd94UwGbtlyHJWf82nrm7NjXy9kKaf2Ah9Bppo08H3tUt3ijzDVTdSjC5kR-5YQIrgEyfu8RsDCNNHYDkeVV8OtvoHw4pQN5iNq6VLUPfWBU9ZFx3n_dqNfJ41/s1600/photo.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbrNtTLzGxK-Hqmtnkrvnd94UwGbtlyHJWf82nrm7NjXy9kKaf2Ah9Bppo08H3tUt3ijzDVTdSjC5kR-5YQIrgEyfu8RsDCNNHYDkeVV8OtvoHw4pQN5iNq6VLUPfWBU9ZFx3n_dqNfJ41/s320/photo.jpg" width="239" /></a>A lovely side note of Caden's blanket proves that Nannies blankets are all powerful. I finally completed the blanket on a Sunday evening. I posted on facebook - "Finished! A certain baby can arrive right now" About 10 minutes later I received a text from my son announcing that Zoe's waters had broken. If that isn't powerful I am not too sure what is.<br />
<br />
<br />
I have just popped an extra photo to the right of the blanket that I made for Rydah. It is knitted and was the first item I had finished in a long long time. I see this blanket as the start of a my creating passion being reignited. Thanks Rydah.<br />

Well it been great writing about this wooly journey. Now off to plan my next one... or maybe work on one of the ones I have already started. It's so easy for these to happen and then you don't think of them again, so writing them down here is going to jog my memories. <br />

This week there has been a few special moments. One hugely momentous one - the birth of my second grandchild. The moment I get the text from my son telling me his son has arrived and everyone is well and oh so happy. Isn't he devine?<br />
I won't get to meet Caden Lewis until August so in the meantime the wonders of the internet will have to suffice. <br />

<br />
My son, Lewis and his lovely partner Zoe are doing such a wonderful job of parenting and I think (with a little bit of Nana bias) that they make just stunning boys.<br />
<br />

I just love that they have had two boys and they are going to grow up doing boy stuff together. Their parents might not be so keen on all the stuff they will find to get up to but I think I might get to smile a smile or two when I hear about their adventures. <br />
<br />
Well it seems that this news just overshadows all the other happy moments I have had this week. I will save them for another post.<br />
<br />
Enjoy your weekend - I will, the weather is Autumn perfect here. <br />

I just love it when different small things that have happened all combine and Boom! I have a moment or two of bliss and happiness.<br />
<br />
So to make my tale a short one I got to meet with a fantastic group of fellow knitters and crocheters this weekend. I think I found a most lovely pack of like minded folk that could sit and yarn their day away. It was a super day - pictures shown here of us all <a href="http://wildandgrace.wordpress.com/2013/03/17/garden-turned-lounge-party/" target="_blank">here</a>. What a colourful group of ladies, both in appearance and souls.<br />
<br />
So I headed home with a smile and some ideas of what I wanted to play with now that my baby blanket is all finito. I awoke at 4am.... super time of the day..... and decided to have a play with some ideas I saw some of the other ladies working on.<br />
<br />

They have been sitting at home while I have wondered what I would use them for. I had watched some bobbles getting created at our get together so I have decided to make a stripey colour laden cushion trying out some new techniques. I got to finish off this part of it at the shop today and now am wondering if it is all too magnificent for a cushions... I am thinking what a wonderful cover for my wee granny knitting chair. Hmmmm ..... the possibilities<br />

So here's my first band of colour along with my other passion, beautiful stationery. How many journals does a girl need? I am going to have a play tonight to add a few more colours... just like crochet doodle really - what bliss! <br />
<br />
Ohhhh! I had some more major news today - involving 10 little toes and 10 little fingers. Super exciting.... will share this news tomorrow.<br />

There goes February :oWhat a month..... busy busy busy - so much to catch you all up on, oh where to start.<br />
<br />
Bit of a diversion tonight though - cooking! My other passion, where I cook beautiful food from scratch with devine ingrediants.<br />

Tonights dinner started when I thought to myself that a rice salad could do the trick. I looked up a few recipes, took ideas from one and a few other ideas from another and then made it all mine!<br />
I roasted some pumpkin in my all time fav coconut oil - what a magical ingredient. Then I popped some brown rice on to cook and toasted some cashews, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds. Then I blended some olive oil, lemon juice, a whole bulb of roasted garlic, medjool date, cumin, salt and pepper. I mixed that through the rice and some left over quinoa. While all this was happening I had roasted a piece of salmon with some soy sauce and sesame oil.<br />
To put it all together I mixed some finally shredded spinach with the rice. Scattered some pumpkin in the bowl with the salmon and mixed nuts and seeds. I guess I could have topped it with a creamy sauce but it was fine just as it was. It was a beautiful way to finish my day and best of all I don't have to clean up my mess.... I have a wonderful MOTH that does that :)Belinda Sandshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17866165433538715632noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1098978252096233451.post-16261102319365284012013-01-25T15:28:00.000-08:002013-01-25T16:25:26.240-08:00So Thread Weight Does Matter!I was so proud of the lovely threads I purchased in the last post. Not at all suitable for what I am planing tho. Hmmmmm..... time to bust out the stash that I am hiding in a box under the shelf in my stashroom.<br />

A few months ago in a complete buying frenzy I ordered a huge box of 4ply cottons from <a href="http://www.jimmybeanswool.com/knitting/yarn/Cascade/UltraPimaFine.asp?showLarge=true&specPCVID=35183" target="_blank">Jimmy Beans</a> in America. I couldn't decide on a colour so I just said - What the heck - and ordered one of each. It was one of the best boxes I got to open last year, hands down.<br />
<br />
So I had a quick play last night and this is what I came up with. I think it's a lovely spread of colours and this weekend - long weekend at that, I shall have an experiment with this chosen few. <br />

I went out on a good deed today to get some apples for my horse, Lily. Well to be totally truthful that was a ruse to drop into the yarn store to see if there were any colours of crochet cotton that I adored. There was, I bought and then ran out of time to buy the apples. Ooooops!<br />
<br />
I have a plan for these colours - hopefully my play tonight will prove that my plan is a FANTASTIC plan. It's always a good thing when a plan turns out to be so. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlE7FA7ldnWuA22OdrysHOMtmiEjtlD8rt8bDwcHqoPp1QA3CkEQsVJnkHyj5r7KyrW4yzJYtP3hFz1hP2Jpjb8qXUyvWVUu3M4171AbShyWPqsYqksN20-4nH7TDOhfISNMqia9_6gWfC/s1600/IMG_1026.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlE7FA7ldnWuA22OdrysHOMtmiEjtlD8rt8bDwcHqoPp1QA3CkEQsVJnkHyj5r7KyrW4yzJYtP3hFz1hP2Jpjb8qXUyvWVUu3M4171AbShyWPqsYqksN20-4nH7TDOhfISNMqia9_6gWfC/s200/IMG_1026.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
It also involves some twigs I went hunting for a few weeks ago. I didn't realise how hard it would be to find twigs that were the right size and the right type and had the right shape. I was pretty pleased how they turned out and they have added a very minimalistic look to my not very minimalistic lounge. Poor Tom has been wondering where I am headed with this look - he just knows in his heart of hearts that this won't be all that is happening on the dresser.<br />
<br />
So there we are.... we have the twigs and we have the yarn. I can see that there won't be too much happening in my world outside these two things. Update tomorrow!!Belinda Sandshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17866165433538715632noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1098978252096233451.post-71594679029484115882013-01-06T01:01:00.000-08:002013-01-06T18:07:03.156-08:00Rainy Sunday Sew Fest<br />

I still dabble but the addict-factor is at an all time low. This weekend I did venture into my sewing room and had a wonderful time - a wee bit of cutting and a whole lot of stitching. The view from my sewing seat is wonderful even on a rainy Sunday - the birds all hang out in the trees outside my room making it a very nice place to be.<br />
<br />
Here's a small peek at some of the applique I have already done in the centre of the quilt. It's a lovely quilt - Jesse's Garden. I have been working on the applique on and off for quite a few months but it is coming together quite nicely now. <br />

Here's a wee look at the border I have been working on. It's all attached and when I have a chance I'll get a photo of the completed border. I am totally chuffed with the way it all went together - not a tuck or pleat in sight. Magic! Hopefully I will get a chance next week to get to work on some more flowers so the branches aren't looking quite so bare. See you all then with more blossoms. <br />

<br />
It happens to me every year, part of the joy of being in retail at this time of year. We had a very very busy season this year which is great and now I get to appreciate 'normal' time and get all of my 'normal things done. This in a way is a great thing, otherwise I just might not realise how special my life can be.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJoH0dVgMiX_uLVulJj968P5vdxzjjfdU-X7IxtR6NealqHJlEqpFNzyCIAa0lZ_s0I9Hnz2b921p8U7o6ZESMQXYoYdTekb0O_POszw2vH8mKSnMKNKEW07h8QXkDE7X3zEA__9uPpnj8/s640/blogger-image--2117006685.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="238" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJoH0dVgMiX_uLVulJj968P5vdxzjjfdU-X7IxtR6NealqHJlEqpFNzyCIAa0lZ_s0I9Hnz2b921p8U7o6ZESMQXYoYdTekb0O_POszw2vH8mKSnMKNKEW07h8QXkDE7X3zEA__9uPpnj8/s320/blogger-image--2117006685.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

The baby blanket is coming along at a great pace - for a turtle that is. I am a wee bit nervous of the colours, I have found out that I am going to be a nannie to another boy - which is a very exciting thing. So now I am a wee bit concerned that this blanket is a bit 'girlie' compared to Rydah's technicolour one. So as a backup I have started a hexagon blanket in bright cottons. I am not too sure about this either but I just love the way that this one looks on <a href="http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/2008/10/hexagonal-goodness.html" target="_blank">this blog</a>. So there, procrastination has struck but I am sure that one of these blankets will be just right.<br />

I have always loved these stones on <a href="http://resurrectionfern.typepad.com/.a/6a00e54fc19bef8833015392c74b0b970b-pi" target="_blank">this blog</a>. So that was my Christmas treat, to sit and cover a stone. I just loved it! I have now made two and they look rather fine side by side. <br />

<br />
I took these photos a wee while back but they just make me smile when I look at them.<br />
<br />
We were out having coffee when this rather lovely seagull decided that the ground was just not up to his standard. Cheeky thing happened on a plate which was still half full. Not sure if this occurred because of a fussy human didn't find the meal up to standard or if the chef hadn't put the love into the meal when he/she cooked it. But anyways the seagull was just totally impressed with the offerings on the plate.<br />
<br />
Other folk sitting around were just horrified at the fellow but I think because I was making such a fuss of him there were too scared to chase him away. I always loved Johnathon Livingstone Seagull - so this fellow became my Johnathon. and if he is a she then she will be my Harriet. How do you tell if a seagull is a she or a he? Fascinating question.<br />

But no - another call from that darling boy, I'm going to be a nannie again!! So exciting - but wow, these two kids of mine have got their work cut out for them for the next few years.<br />
So the planning started again.... what to make, what to make. So many choices I must admit that I jumped from one idea to another - ooooo.... and I must admit to the fact that I jumped from one purchase to another. So much fun!<br />
First up on the idea was some lovely hand dyed yarn from a local lady who operates under the name of Olive and Emma - <a href="http://www.facebook.com/OliveandEmma?ref=ts&fref=ts" target="_blank">here</a>. I purchased her lovely rainbow yarns and lots of grey - I had intentions of knitting a blanket with rainbow hearts, just like the hottie bottle cover shown <a href="http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151115893491528&set=o.117534948377570&type=1&theater" target="_blank">here</a>. But then when I thought about it and remembered that these kids live in the tropics and this is beautiful merino - not the most intelligent idea of the month.<br />
So onto the second idea - I found a beautiful crochet motif blanket in a magazine I sell in the shop. It is in a warm beige with bright coloured flower motifs sewn around the edges. Exquisite. And then I found some equally fantastic yarn in cotton and silk to make it. I was so geared for this wee one to be a girl that I hadn't really given much thought to what I would do if a wee man appeared on the scene. Plus I really really love the rug and could see it thrown over my couch. Sigh.... where to go from here?<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWc5250_bXdmg1D-ibOWwCzPxJDKLnrHl9f1c46EP-me_8l2p9H5H66Rxy_qdoyhjL1DEi88THwgo9yM_llKS5Nx-qIZxdaD0huNeB_vGl29E_Fzxd_Ub3D_TORXGCUGsd_2o27X7oksKE/s1600/IMG_0995.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWc5250_bXdmg1D-ibOWwCzPxJDKLnrHl9f1c46EP-me_8l2p9H5H66Rxy_qdoyhjL1DEi88THwgo9yM_llKS5Nx-qIZxdaD0huNeB_vGl29E_Fzxd_Ub3D_TORXGCUGsd_2o27X7oksKE/s320/IMG_0995.jpg" width="239" /></a>Well I have certainly taken the long road of getting to the blanket I would actually make. I was sorting through some drawers and found some cotton yarn I had bought a year or so ago to make a blanket for my bed. I hadn't been happy with how the crochet squares had turned out so it had been put into the replanning drawer. Well here was the perfect use for it. I already have a ripple rug on the go - I saw it a while back on <a href="http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/" target="_blank">Attic24</a> and had started one of my own. I just love rippling so I finally got to a place to start my own new ripple rug for the new family member. The photos below show just one weekend of rippling and I am super pleased with the results. I am sure that the colours are going to be fine for boy or girl - I will wait to complete the borders when I know more. Brown/Blue for a wee man and Pink/Green flowers for a little lady. Oh - I so hope it's a girl.... I can just see a mass of flower motifs being worked into a very special flowery border. But we shall wait and see - only a few months to go now.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTjXXhU9nTPRLe-As5RugYPwzVD6qfr7zmSx73DO4hUW_iU6XBpbGO16HQI_0YbCELKvu75CuqFBoZm6amv-ERUeY6XR1JHScN7mVwhpl0F26UKSCOkqa9NXTRqWt0Si68RHlqKJvQ_T7c/s1600/IMG_0997.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTjXXhU9nTPRLe-As5RugYPwzVD6qfr7zmSx73DO4hUW_iU6XBpbGO16HQI_0YbCELKvu75CuqFBoZm6amv-ERUeY6XR1JHScN7mVwhpl0F26UKSCOkqa9NXTRqWt0Si68RHlqKJvQ_T7c/s400/IMG_0997.jpg" width="298" /></a></div>
<br />
So that's the story of the baby blankets. I do think this wee family will stay at two parents and two kids for a while and I can start making other bits and bobs for these two very special young peoples. I do love being the Nannie, even if it is from afar. <br />

<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now anyone that knows me well knows that I like nothing better than starting amazing beautiful projects that I get totally obsessed with. The success rate for completing these projects is relative on a few things. First up is whether or not another bigger obsession appears that totally obscures the previous one. Then there is happiness factor - whether I just LOVE the project and can't put it down because it is so goddamned fantastic. Then there is a responsibility factor - whether I am going to be held accountable for completing a project. That last one doesn't happen too often as usually the projects are for myself so I can tell myself that there is no hurry and tomorrow is another very beautiful day to think about getting back to a project.<br />
<br />
So anyway - where is this post leading? Well 15 months or so ago my very precious son rang to tell us that we were going to be grandies. Yikes! Was he ready - hell, was I ready? Well once the dust settled and I got to know his lovely gal and decided that yep he was ready and I was ready - well then the planning all about what I was going to make started. Well I hummed and harred until I settled on this lovely blanket on Ravelry found <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/june-reversible-cables-baby-blanket" target="_blank">here</a>. The next issue was what colours - these kids of mine weren't making it easy by not finding out whether they were having a boy or a girl. So I settled on bright and found some bamboo/wool mix in delicious colours. And I commenced knitting….. and I kept knitting….. and then I knitted some more…. until the day arrived when all I had to do was sew in the ends. WOW! For a day I was no longer a procrastinator - I was a FINISHER!! <br />
<br />
So here is the finished product next to my kiwi's (just to remind young Rydah of his kiwi roots) and here is the young man himself under my beautiful FINISHED project. But the story does continue - more in a moment or maybe a day or two. </div>

I achieved a bit, thought about achieving a bit and missed out on achieving some things. But all good at the end of the day because I can just add those slipped things to the list of things yet to be achieved ;)<br />
I have popped a picture of tonight's dinner on this post because it was such a simple thing to make but the taste value was out of this world. First up I roasted some squash pumpkin in the beloved coconut oil. Roasted it in their skin and did them really well till they were crunchy but so soft inside. Then I diced up some carrots, celery, zucchini, broccolini, asparagus and I'm sure there was something else but for now what it was escapes me. I stirfried them in some avocado oil till they were cooked but still had a wee bit of crunch. I removed them from the pan then poured some cream into it and reduced that down to white sauce consistency. Oh my! I simply popped some pumpkin and vegetables onto my plate and poured the cream over the vegetables. On VERY scrummish dinner in a very quick time. So easy to get your plate of veges with this dish. <br />

Time for the girls to shed their woolly winter coats and enjoy lots and lots of sunshine. I always worry a bit about how they are looking under all that wool - no need for worries this year, these girls are looking a-ok. I was going to post pictures of the girls getting shorn but really it doesn't show them in a good light - all dignity certainly flies out the door on shearing day. Needless to say that there was a bit of ruckess, lots of spitting and generally argy bargy for an hour or two at The Farm Up The Hill. I have ended up with six beautiful fleeces all sitting in bags in the shed. Weather permitting I intend to clean all the foreign matter out of them on Sunday and get them off to the spinners asap. I have decided on two-ply and I have found the perfect singlet pattern that I just need to knit. I am sure the girls will just love it when I go and sit down in the paddock with them - they won't think I'm at all nutty I am sure. I love the way they look after they have been fleeced. All sleek and racy and ready to go.</div>

I am really really lucky in that one of my customers makes her way to the Farmers Markets and buys me bags of seriously good tomatoes every Saturday. I really appreciate these sweet bombs of flavour. I also bought my first bunch of asparagus this week and they have all come together to make one heck of a tasty dinner.<br />
<br />
I made a tomato sauce by frying a red onion, two stalks of diced celery and lots of garlic. I then added heaps of diced fresh tomatoes and seasoned with salt and pepper. Simple. I already had some diced pumpkin roasting in some coconut oil. I then simply baked the snapper in fresh lemon juice and steamed the asparagus adding a smear of butter towards the end. <br />
<br />
So simple, so tasty and so easy. I certainly did enjoy. xxxxBBelinda Sandshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17866165433538715632noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1098978252096233451.post-54708415460686091422012-10-16T15:38:00.000-07:002012-10-24T15:15:47.235-07:00Happy Scrappy Nine-PatchFinally went searching for my scrappy ninepatch quilt. Of course I looked in the most obscure stash spots in my sewing room first. When they proved unfruitful I glanced through my baskets of projects all ready to be worked on and there it was, all in it's own basket. Yay!<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUOY0A1P5iSIltrp0c483GGrdgVyfqMgqFj7L9N34JrkmQCDiTAFVxKgEd1qzHGqneH_CHQgnHKvz45D7HdLmIZqyK5Ccxb0CMj9wJiYcmukomRi2hqSSEr5IidqfXR9kSonj6k5UCO8ws/s1600/IMG_0883.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUOY0A1P5iSIltrp0c483GGrdgVyfqMgqFj7L9N34JrkmQCDiTAFVxKgEd1qzHGqneH_CHQgnHKvz45D7HdLmIZqyK5Ccxb0CMj9wJiYcmukomRi2hqSSEr5IidqfXR9kSonj6k5UCO8ws/s320/IMG_0883.jpg" width="239" /></a>I just love the stripping that I have used with the purple and green. I had the stripe in my stash and went hunting for the green and purple to go with it - and voila! perfect stripping. The cream linen was another fabric I had collected somewhere along the way, not patchwork fabric but just seems to fit in perfectly here. I got all despondent with it when I ran out of the swap blocks - I wanted it bigger. But now I have got it out and played with it I think it is the perfect size. I am now imagining a border of the cream linen and having a lovely scrappy floral applique as a border. OH! So I will have to look how much of the cream I have - if there isn't enough I guess it's a perfect opportunity to find another cream/beige fabric to take the scrappy another step. <br />

So there is that quilt.... one of many on my to-do list. I haven't played with fabric for so long but now I can feel the urge returning. <br />
I am knitting this scarf with the devine Rowan Kidsilk Haze Stripe with the feather and fan pattern. <br />
I couldn't resist a ball of delightful wool when I
went to the shop for something completely different - one stroke and I
was a goner :) Or at least my purse was. Really loving how the colours
are working with the feather and fan pattern. Making this has made me
realise that there is always stuff to learn no matter how long you have
been doing a craft. I figured out that I have been putting my yarn
around the needle all wrong when doing a YO. Crazy! So once I sorted
that out I was off and now I just have to keep knitting to get to the
next colour in the ball.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbeVEICZ8CFqgMiL2zyqJ1cuZvpU8z7a_NOYBFhkc8OYRRYI2D1oyUHxFsPjLYpVCkcmOMG9CHj9crvxZyWNYBHCp75i_szKJ1bxsZaYk2krzCuY7bKmWrx-P8JRL_0qNNfl5LEi15_Znv/s1600/IMG_0876.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbeVEICZ8CFqgMiL2zyqJ1cuZvpU8z7a_NOYBFhkc8OYRRYI2D1oyUHxFsPjLYpVCkcmOMG9CHj9crvxZyWNYBHCp75i_szKJ1bxsZaYk2krzCuY7bKmWrx-P8JRL_0qNNfl5LEi15_Znv/s320/IMG_0876.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
I cast on 76st and used the following pattern. Row 1: k2, k2 tog x 3,[(yo, k1) x 6, k2 tog x 6] x 3, yo k1 x 6, k3 tog x 3, k2<br />
Row 2: purl<br />
Row 3: knit<br />
Row 4: purl<br />
Repeat these 4 rows until all the wool is used. <br />
<br />
It's a lovely easy knit now that I have the pattern down pat. Very quick to grow and will be so lovely and warm for next winter. <br />
<br />
So much more to show and tell - I'm going to really enjoy popping all this pictures on here and then putting up the finished pictures super soon.<br />
<br />
<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzZCiwuFwAu0n9TNUAJgjHg6RR_yXlqHHdaBEOe03mlQM27B2BDC9gQoE1Kj80zQNb72MgFqLIU0sNF0EPz69XCbptDjijLVXEOX2VV9XS8E1-RU9q8pvts960kTgYsyZQqY6SVYBgoYl-/s1600/IMG_0855.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzZCiwuFwAu0n9TNUAJgjHg6RR_yXlqHHdaBEOe03mlQM27B2BDC9gQoE1Kj80zQNb72MgFqLIU0sNF0EPz69XCbptDjijLVXEOX2VV9XS8E1-RU9q8pvts960kTgYsyZQqY6SVYBgoYl-/s320/IMG_0855.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
The colours remind me of this picture I took in the weekend of our
lavender. Its kind of a reversy colour thing tho.... the green and the
purple are doing the opposite dance in each photo. I love the
combination of these two colours. It has reminded me of a lovely nine
patch quilt I made from some swap blocks many moons ago. It came to a
grinding halt when I ran out of the nine patches - they are all scrappy
and I tied them together with a combo of green and purple. I will have
to find it and post a photo tomorrow... and then maybe I will have to
start making some nine patches of my own. Now off to bed to knit
myself to sleep. :) <br />

Up here in the hills things can be so different to down in the city lights. Came home on Monday to thick mist and very nosy alpacas. There must have been a huge downpour just before I made it home as everything was just dripping with moisture. Managed to grab these shots of the girls - loved the way the old dead poplars looked in the background too. Next on my wish list is a decent camera.... in the meantime my phone is doing an ok job.<br />

I love these girls but I really need to get things moving with them this
summer. I would love to breed again but need to raise "boy" money by
selling a couple of them. So bring on summer and lots of pictures on
Trade Me and hopefully lots of people that want to buy my girls. In the
meantime they get to hang out and eat and poop and sleep - they seem
pretty happy doing just that.Belinda Sandshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17866165433538715632noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1098978252096233451.post-43522947166141749632012-10-09T14:39:00.002-07:002012-10-09T14:39:40.628-07:00My Sunday Post - that did a wee stint in NeverNeverlandSunday was a very lazy relaxed day of in my world. Bit of shopping
with Tom for his birthday then home to play with knitting and crochet. I
have started my blanket for Lewis' and Zoe's baby (due in March) - may
the powers that be let it be a girl because this is a VERY girly
blanket. Plan B in reserve so just have to get them both on the way.<br />
<br />
I love Sundays for so many reasons - one of them being that I can cook
up a storm at my leisure. Tonight's inspiration for my dinner (yes I
usually cook two meals) came from an insert in the Herald. Hot Smoked
Salmon Cakes - few adjustments to fit my amazing eating regime of the
moment and I have created what looks like the most amazing dinner of the
month! I have a small rack of free range pork in the oven for himself,
a few roasted potatoes and a few more peas and he'll be a happy man. I
love the fact he is so easily pleased but some days it makes me anxious
that he is so easy to please. But I'm not his mother and he just loves
these simple meals. On to my wonderful salmoncakes tho - they are
smelling devine and I can't wait to try them in their cooked state.<br />
<br />
I roasted some red kumera in my wonderful Cere's unrefined coconut oil
and then smashed them up. The kumera's were still wrapped in their
skins - the best part I reckon.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhi4-ZyshFfsQhGMOSYDK7EiUJjqTLBfRwPotpo-Lu3-iuiyrhwsjPwNAnPwGUtIDC6EQWC93KRfii3kBxYIEnNNb87SA2xhA_CRSSl05J63QFN6Wy_GlgRQo4RmNPFaE-4CebRNnPkxo0/s1600/IMG_0841.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhi4-ZyshFfsQhGMOSYDK7EiUJjqTLBfRwPotpo-Lu3-iuiyrhwsjPwNAnPwGUtIDC6EQWC93KRfii3kBxYIEnNNb87SA2xhA_CRSSl05J63QFN6Wy_GlgRQo4RmNPFaE-4CebRNnPkxo0/s320/IMG_0841.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Then I mixed together some seeded mustard (sugar free), chopped parsley,
lemon zest and juice, beaten egg, salt & pepper, chopped red onion
and added the salmon..... oh yum!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrmZngy47B869sOYG_RXtHexR8FGDhqodNz32cflfW7I1YTklt__M7bDncpwjsM-PTNjKV8OcLFHD0LluA9tJUgvGgk95AqRZ3e_r_Of_i-aHUyqyUja4MTX-CeIzOfeSCTKL6_JzCBEg/s1600/IMG_0840.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrmZngy47B869sOYG_RXtHexR8FGDhqodNz32cflfW7I1YTklt__M7bDncpwjsM-PTNjKV8OcLFHD0LluA9tJUgvGgk95AqRZ3e_r_Of_i-aHUyqyUja4MTX-CeIzOfeSCTKL6_JzCBEg/s320/IMG_0840.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Then it went all together and wow - it really looks like my dinner is
going to rock tonight. I then rolled it in processed wholegrain oats
and have left them to sit while the other dinner cooks. Maybe some
capers next time... I love freestyle cooking.... and that is partly for
starting this blog, just so I can remember what I cook and then play
with it some more.<br />
<br />
So while that is all happening I have made the time to start my journey
in the world of blogs. I'm not brave enough yet to tell folk about what
I'm up too.... I'll just take a few weeks to get the feel of all of
this and then maybe I'll invite a few people to drop in and have a look
at what I'm up too. Great to have made a start and I really look
forward to placing a few more words on this page as the day's go by. <br />

It's so me and my muddled head with so many things happening - or not happening for that matter.<br />
<br />
Anyway - the confusion is that I started a new blog and I thought it was under this email. But no! Hmmmm..... I can find the blog but have no idea how to access it so I shall transfer it to this one and them I have all my stop-start blogs all together! Funny how this seems to be a spring thing restarting my blog. But life has a good feel about it this year so lots to share. <br />
<br />
See you there. Belinda Sandshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17866165433538715632noreply@blogger.com0
